Snippets for the week ending 30th August 2013
Welcome to New Members
A big welcome to Len Rapley who has joined as a full member. Len enjoy your golf on our great course and the fellowship of your new club.
Anne joined the Club as Administrative Officer in January 2008 and has been a real asset to the club for all of that time and a great help to me over the past two years. Unfortunately she has decided to retire and spend more time with her family. Anne we will miss you terribly and I am sure all the members and the staff wish you well in the future and enjoy your time with your grandchildren..
We are making the above position of Administration Officer available to our members, the role requires a strong accounting background. The position is for 24 hours per week, and Anne presently works 4 days and has Tuesdays off. The closing date for this is Friday 30th August and we expect the successful candidate to commence prior to Anne leaving so that some training can take place. If there is anyone interested please submit your CV’s and application as soon as possible.
The two front gardens are going to be redone and modernised with new plants. This will all be done on a volunteer basis and we are appealing to members to help with providing the plants. We are selling grapefruit from behind the 16th and picked by Shirley Wisnewski, please help yourself and put a little something in the coin container. Shirley and Lynda Wilson are going to design and arrange the planting, so if anyone would like to donate a plant please contact them for guidelines of what is required.
Painting the Clubhouse
George Rutledge and Peter Ellis have got stuck in and started painting the clubhouse. Robert is helping with the water blasting, so thanks to you all. If there is anyone who would like to help please either contact George or leave your name in the office
Hamish’s Wedding Ring
Sadly Hamish has lost his silver wedding ring on the course somewhere between the Shed and the 18th and/or the putting green. Please if you come across it either hand it in at the office or the Pro Shop.
Rarangi Golf Club – Visit
It is our turn to visit Rarangi this year and we have arranged it for the 16th November. If we have enough people we could organise a bus to go over for the day. Please put it in your diary. There will be a sheet in the lounge and in the Pro Shop to register your interest.
Golf Carts For Hire
The expense of running and maintaining our Golf carts has continued to increase and the fees have remained the same for the last five years. The new rates will start on 1st September 2013. Members will pay $25 for 18 holes and visitors pay $40 for 18 holes. Those with medical certificates will increase slightly.
From The Pro Shop
This week we hosted the Tasman Pennant Finals and can I say what an absolute delight all the ladies were and also congratulate our magnificent ladies for a super smooth running of a superb event. Well done to all concerned.
Last Wednesdays Stableford was won by Tony Usmar with a magnificent 44 points, second place went to Robert Murray with 34 points and third was David Stringer with 29 points
Next time you are in store please check out our new Lynx cart bags, they are very colourful bags, have 14 dividers, a putter holder and come highly recommended. With spring in the air you should also definitely take a look at our new range of Kikkor Shoes, at just $119 they really are an outstanding shoe and a delight to wear. Also don’t forget our new club shirts, a must for your spring/summer wardrobe.
